Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnification Agreement
This disclaimer/waiver affects your legal rights. Read it carefully before participating in any event, hiking or non-hiking, associated with this ALFC Hiking Neighborhood Group. Attending the event means you understand and/or consent to the following:

 

Liability Release: With the understanding that this hiking group is organized by non-professional hikers and other volunteers, and that the purpose of our group is to build community within the church environment, I agree I will not sue the volunteer organizers, group members, hike attendees, and/or the church for any reason associated with these activities and I release the same from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, causes of actions, costs and expenses of any nature whatsoever arising out of any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or minors in my charge or to any property belonging to me, arising from the hiking or non-hiking activity or while upon the premises where the hiking and non-hiking activity is being conducted, 

Assumption of Risk: I understand that participating in the hiking and non-hiking activities associated with this hiking group, entails inherent risks such as (but not limited to) falling rocks, inclement weather, hostile or aggressive wildlife, falls, fractures, concussions, equipment failures, negligence of others, 

dehydration, heat stroke, frostbite, hypothermia, skin rashes, bee stings, diseases carried by ticks and mosquitos, mental anguish or trauma from experience or injury that may result in serious injury or death. I am fully aware of the risks and hazards associated with hiking and non-hiking activities, and hereby elect to voluntarily participate.  In so doing, I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, property damage, or personal injury (physical or mental), including death, that may be sustained by me as a result of participating.

Warranty of Physical Fitness: I warrant that I am physically fit and in a condition that will allow me to participate fully in the hiking or non-hiking activity as well as all minors in my charge. I maintain medical insurance that covers me as well as minors in my charge for accidents and illnesses while participating in this hiking or non hiking activity. I assume full responsibility for the payment of medical expenses not covered by my insurance incurred as a result of my participation.

Participation in Lieu of Signature: By participating in this hiking or non-hiking event, I acknowledge that this assumption of risk, the release of liability, and warrant of physical fitness is as binding as if I signed a 

form on behalf of myself and the minors in my charge and agree to be bound by its terms.
