Welcome to our site! This is the place to meet like-minded hikers at Patria Church (formerly Abundant Living Family Church - ALFC). If you are not a member of Patria Church, welcome just the same! About Patria Church Hiking

The goal of Patria Church Hiking is to help fellow hikers grow in their walk with Jesus with the support of like-minded hikers. We believe life is better when we do life together in community. 

We support this goal through monthly hikes and other impromptu events such as enjoying lunch together after a hike when the opportunity presents itself. All hiking and other group activities will be posted on this site.

    Bolsa Chica Conservancy and Wetlands, 3842 Warner Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, USA
    The Bolsa Chica Wetlands is one of the largest remaining salt water marshes. It is home to a variety of plants, insects, mammals, reptiles, fish, raptors, and other bird species. We'll meet at the church by the blue whale at 7am.

    Mach One and El Moro Canyon, Moro Visitor Center, 8471 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA
    The city of Rancho Palos Verdes closed the Abalone Cove Reserve due to hazardous conditions. We'll repeat a new favorite trail, Mach One and El Moro Canyon, part of the Crystal Cove State Parks. The trail is a moderately challenging 3.8 mile loop with beautiful views. We'll meet at the church.

    This is a 3 mile hike with a slight incline to the top with a beautiful cross that towers over the mountain. Once we arrive we'll spend a few minutes in prayer and/or meditation.

    This 5-mile trail is located in Claremont, CA Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This hike features great views of the surrounding city and mountains. Dogs are welcome on the trail.

    This hiking trail is part of the Crystal Cove State Park. It's a 3.8-mile loop trail with an elevation of 597ft considered to be moderately challenging. Beautiful views of the canyon and, from some parts of the hike, the beach.

    Dana Point Headlands Trail, Collection of Conservation Parks and Trail System, 34558 Scenic Dr, Dana Point, CA 92629, USA
    A public trail system, approximately three miles in length, links all of the conservation parks and public open space areas of the Headlands. The system includes pedestrian trails, coastal and beach access, scenic overlooks, and the Nature Interpretive Center. We'll leave from ALFC at 7:00am.

    The backcountry and wilderness areas of Crystal Cove State Park contains 18 miles of hiking trails through 2,400 acres of native wilderness. It includes a stretch of coastal cliffs and a beachfront cove situated between Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean just north of Laguna Beach.

    TahquiTahquitz Canyon is a beautiful and culturally sensitive areas of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Reservation. It's home to a spectacular seasonal 60-foot waterfall, rock art, ancient irrigation systems, native wildlife, and plants. We'll meet in the parking lot by light brown bldgs.

    Calico One is a 2.2 mile moderate to strenuous introductory hike at Red Rock Canyon. This hike combines the history, geology, beauty, and fun that makes Red Rock famous. Make your own transportation & hotel arrangements to Vegas. We'll meet at Hampton Inn Las Vegas/Summerlin at 8am in the lobby.

    Torrey Pines is the most popular state park in San Diego and is visited by local residents who enjoy the stunning overlooks, walk a peaceful trail, or exercise in a clean, beautiful environment. We'll meet in the church parking by the tan portables at 6am and car pool to Torrey Pines.

    Abalone Cove Reserve features two beaches (Abalone Cove and Sacred Cove), tide pools, bluff top viewing areas and trails crisscrossing the area. The 109-acre Preserve contains an official State Marine Conservation Area with natural marine resources, including tidepools. We'll meet at the church.

    The Etiwanda Falls Trail is nestled in the Etiwanda foothills. It's an out and back trail with great views and photo moments. The reward for the steady climb is a beautiful waterfall to enjoy. Join us for an early lunch afterward if you're available. Location by group consensus.

    The 3/4 mile Long Valley Trail is an easy level trail that provides an excellent introduction to the Park’s plants and animals. After a short rest break wei'' continue on with the Desert View Trail. This moderately strenuous 1.5 mile loop trail leads to several scenic and forest views.
